The clock doesn't work. The hands are fixed at this time. That is a plus because Jeremy can't stand the sound of a ticking clock! I LOVE IT!!!!

Tick Tock, Tick Tock
I've mentioned before that clocks are a little bit of an obsession for me. Well, I have added another one to my assembly, and it's a beauty! It may very well be my new favorite! My dad had the day off today, so he came to hang out for a little while. While he was here, I convinced him to help me hang it (or really do it for me-- I wasn't much help!). Thanks so much DAD! YOU ROCK!

Forgot One
In my montage of clocks, I forgot one! My husband pointed it out to me. I guess I had forgotten there was a clock underneath the glass on this table! I love this table/clock! I got it in Canton and have it sitting in our formal living room.

Thursday Favorites
My friend, Betsy, recently posted about one of her favorite things to decorate with, lamps. So, I decided to follow suit, and post about one of my favorite things to decorate with, clocks. I have some sort of weird fondness for clocks of all different shapes, sizes and styles. I love to incorporate them into my decor, and I think they are a great as a focal point, just like a piece of art or just added to a simple vignette. Sometimes, I cannot find the right piece to put in certain places, and then I find a nice clock to use. So, here are some of the clocks that I have around my house, starting with my most favorite.
Our family room has vaulted ceilings, and I found this clock at an antique shop and knew it would be perfect for this spot! The best part is, it is HUGE, and was only $50.
I LOVE this train station clock. I got it from Ballard Designs about 5-6 years ago. It was the first one like it I had ever seen. (Before they became so popular). I love the distressed look of it. It is double sided, and I think this column in my kitchen is the perfect place to hang it. You can check the time from the kitchen, breakfast table, hallway to our bedroom, or recliner (yuck) in the family room.
I have always wanted a giant, antique grandfather clock. I love the big pendulums and just the overall look of one. I have seen some beautiful reproductions as well. My aunt, has a gorgeous antique one in her foyer. My cousin has a beautiful one that her husband bought her for their anniversary one year. It sits in her dining area, and every time I go over there (which is not often) I remember how beautiful and perfect that clock is. And another aunt who also shares my fondness of clocks (probably has WAY more than I do), has a big, black one with pendulum in her pool table room. I love it too and hope to one day have one just as big and beautiful in my home. But, for now, I have this one. I had seen an iron clock at a clock store when we lived in Lubbock. It was so big and beautiful, but at $1000.00, there was no way it was coming home with me. One day, I was walking through an outlet mall, and saw this clock in the window. It was around my birthday, and I had money that was given to me as gifts. I decided I wanted this clock. It is iron and as tall as me (6'). So, I went in to check the price, and it was only $60. I couldn't beat that, so I took it home with me and it now sits in our front room. It isn't an antique, but it'll do for me!
This clock was given to me by some dear friends as a graduation gift. My husband cannot stand the sound of ticking clocks, so it sits in our bedroom, motionless. But, it makes a great toy, Hayden loves to play with it every time he comes over.
This clock was given to me by my mother in law many Christmases ago. I put it in my bathroom, so I can quickly check the time while getting ready.
I purchased this clock from Canton to go in a little shelf on top of our TV cabinet. I was having a hard time finding things small enough to fit in the shelves, and then I saw this clock on a clearance table, and knew its color, size and price ($8.00) were perfect!
This is a little Brighton clock that used to sit on my desk at work. It now shares our guest room with another cute little clock...
...this one! I am a huge "I Love Lucy" fan and someone gave this clock to me. I put it in our pink guest room along with a lot of other Lucy memorabilia.

Last one, and it is probably the most special. My husband's uncle made this clock for us as a wedding gift. It is something we will always keep and maybe one day pass down to our children. No matter where we go or how we change the look of our home, this clock will always remain a part of our decor.
But, after seeing all of those clocks, this is the one most used! It is old and ugly and out of date. But, somehow, it keeps on ticking (literally). It was my husband's alarm clock when he was younger and he thinks he can wake up to nothing else. So, it sits unattractively on our nightstand, but gets used the most often. No, I do not consider this one a decoration of any way shape or sort, but, you have to give it up for function sometimes, I guess.
