Jeremy's Surprise Party!

My husband turned 30 last Friday! I can't believe it! We started dating when I was 17 years old. It's hard to believe it has been that long now! If the next 12 years go by as fast as the last, I am going to blink and be a Sr. Citizen! ha!

Since it was a big birthday, I wanted to do something special for him. So, I hosted a surprise birthday dinner for him last Saturday night. I found the cutest invitation in a color scheme that I liked and had Chocolate Box Designs create it for me!

Jeremy is a huge M&M fan, so I decided to make the theme of his party in those colors. I had it at a local Tex Mex restaurant, so I didn't do much as far as decorations. Just some balloons and M&Ms.
I wanted to do a fun slide show for him, but the party was originally supposed to be outside, so I decided to make a giant poster board of pics of him throughout his life. In the middle, I put a sign-in sheet. We sat it on an easel near the cake table.

My ever so talented friend, Betsy, created the cake for me by copying the cake on the invitation!
So many M & M's!!! Luckily, they were on sale at Costco, but we still have about 50 lbs. of M&M's in our pantry. I used a bunch of vases that I already had to save money!
I think he was surprised!
And, Rhett was too!

Valentine Party

Today, Rhett and I hosted a Valentine party for some of his friends and their mommies! We had such a fun time. It was originally scheduled for Friday, but Mother Nature had other plans, so we moved the party to a less snowy day. Some people couldn't make it, and we were sad they weren't here, but we had fun with the ones who were here! Thanks to everyone who came out!
The Food Table- Should've moved the chairs!
Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods

A cute cake that our friend, Rachel, made!

Some of the food
I cut the sausage and cheese into heart shapesAnd the quesadillas, too!Even the ice was heart shaped

The fruit tray, complete with pink fruit dip. The labels said: "Valentine, I'm BANANAS about you!", "Valentine, You're the APPLE of my eye!", "Valentine, I'm GRAPE-ful for you!", "Valentine, You're Simply SWEET!, and "Valentine, You're BERRY cute!".
We had "Cupid's Post Office" for all of the Valentines. And, lastly, I leave you with a picture of my funny Valentine in his cute Valentine shirt.

Edited to add: The best part about this part was that it cost less than $30!!!!
I guess it's one of the perks of having a Valentine birthday! I already had all of the serving pieces. The only thing I purchased was food, and that was minimal because everyone brought something, and party favors. Love the sales and dollar spots just before a holiday!!

Snow Ice Cream

We made Snow Ice Cream from all the snow we received today! I LOVE Snow Ice Cream and don't get the chance to make it that often.

I used Paula Deen's recipe:
8 Cups Fresh Snow
1 Can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla Extract

Mix all and serve immediately!
SOOO GOOD!

First Snow of 2010

We had out first big snow of 2010 this morning! Rhett enjoyed playing in it and despite his runny nose, he DID NOT want to come inside! Blogger loaded the pics backwards, so you'll have to read from the bottom, up!

'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars...

Today, we had a photo shoot w/ Rhett and his cousins at a local photography studio. We couldn't decide what they should wear, so we settled on "rock star" attire because all 3 kiddos had some form of that. At the last minute, we decided they needed sunglasses, so I ran over to a children's clothing store to purchase some for them. Rhett's cousin, Luke, showed up with a mohawk, and I wished that I did the same for Rhett, but luckily, Heather had some product with her. So, Rhett got to match his cousin, and favorite friend, Luke.

Enjoy pics of my little guy; I am going to let Heather feature her kids should she so choose (but they all looked adorable- trust me!):

These are the only solo pics of Rhett... he didn't act very nice today!
