Hall Collage

For the longest time (5 years) I have had a single mirror hanging in my hallway. I got so tired of that being the only thing there, and decided to jazz it up a bit since you can see the hallway from the living room and kitchen. So, I got creative and got out the black spray paint and got to work. There is now another long sign with our last name one it above the horizontal picture on the left side. I just felt it looked more balanced that way. Now that there all up, I have big plans to add a few more fun pieces to the mix.

Show us your life- living rooms

It's Show Us Your Life over at Kelly's Korner today and this week's topic is living rooms. I normally do not participate in these, but since our house is currently on the market, I already had these professional pics of my home saved from the real estate listing. So, I thought I'd participate and likely will in the coming weeks as long as I have pics of the topic.

I actually have two living areas, so I've included them both. This one is our formal living area:

Here is the view as you are heading back out the front door. Sorry, I uploaded these kind of out of order!

Here is a better view of the living area:
This is a combo formal living/dining, so here is a view of the living area over the dining table:
Now to the room that is used most in our home, the family room:

Here is a view looking towards the kitchen:
A view from the back door looking towards the kitchen again:

And here is a view from the kitchen looking towards the back door:
Our home has been on the market only a few months and in these pics I see lots of small things that I have already changed! lol!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hawaiian Vacation Part 2

Well, blogger still won't let me upload all my pics, so here are pics from the middle of our trip! Hopefully someday soon, I can get to the first part!

We ate our fair share of shaved ice!

Chickens roam free on the island. We learned that this was due to a big hurricane that hit the island in 1992. It broke all the chicken coops and ever since, the chickens have roamed free. In fact, they make up the largest population of any creature on the island.

Rhett sure did love chasing the chickens. He would say, "chicken- I have somethin' for you". He also really enjoyed telling us about the mommy and baby chicks. He would say, "awww, so sweet".
The chickens are not afraid of humans. They would eat right out of my hand. Their pecking hurt a little though.
Birds would eat out of the palm of your hand.
They would even sit in your lap.

We spent a lot of time on our lanai-- playing some "music".

There are one lane bridges throughout the island.

Beautiful Hanalei Bay
Pretty flowers growing in the sand.

Breathtaking views everywhere you look.
Adorable Hawaiian church.
This guy was making straw hats and baskets out of palm leaves. Very cool to watch. I saw the dried version at a little store right around the corner from here, they certainly weren't cheap!
Beautiful Taro fields.

We rode a train

Beautiful plantation where we rode the train. There are only 3 bedrooms in this huge mansion!

Beautiful Cooks Pine Trees

Banana Trees
Pineapple Plants
We fed wild pigs! We learned that wild pigs made up the 2nd largest population on the island. Chickens and pigs-- what a combination!

Rhett had a little accident while we were there. He fell down the stairs (only the first couple of steps). Poor baby. He looks much worse now!

Check back soon for more pics of our vacation in paradise!
