My Grandfather was one of my very favorite people in this whole, entire world. He passed almost 3 years ago, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about him. Oh, how I wish that he could have met Rhett. He would be so proud, his chest might have exploded. Anyway, my grandmother spent her lifetime taking care of him, and still does after his death. She goes to his graveside almost daily and water the flowers, dusts off his tombstone, and cleans bird droppings off of the bench that sits at his grave. He was a meticulous man, and she has carried on that legacy. I know that she misses him and thinks about him daily as well. That is why on her birthday, I wanted to make something extra special for her. So, last time I was visiting her, I took some of my grandpa's old clothes and decided to make a ragamuffin garland from them. I attached a copy of an old photograph of my grandfather from when he was young. I also attached 3 wooden letters (my grandfather's initials) and a wooden heart. My grandmother seemed to really like the ragamuffin and she hung it in her room over her dresser mirror.
