Potty Training + 2 Year Old= HARD, REALLY HARD!

First, here are some pics of my cutie enjoying a potty prize, and trying to sneak another by bringing a chair from the kitchen all the way to the laundry room to climb on top of the washer, to reach the potty prizes. Whew! We now have a lock on the laundry room door!

We are on day 2 of the 3 Day Potty Training. We have had more accidents than I can count, and only successfully pottied in the potty 3 times. Today, Rhett is having a "terrible 2" day, so we should be in for a LONG, LONG, LONG day!

Wish us (both) luck!

Potty Training (cnt'd)

We are still working away on this potty training thing, with little success. I bought the above bucket and filled it with little trinkets and candy, but it doesn't seem to do the trick either. Now, I am going to attempt 3 Day Potty Training. Wish me luck!

Potty Training (Part 2)

We introduced Rhett to the potty several months ago, and he was going on it consistently about once or twice a week. Then, as quickly as it began, it ended. So, we kept talking about the potty but never made much progress otherwise. Well, my mom bought Rhett these cute underpants for his birthday, but Rhett never showed much interest. I put them on him the other day and he told me, "no mommy, off". So, I put the diaper back on, and put the underwear away. Today, Jeremy got them back out and told him that truck drivers wear these kind of pants, so Rhett decided to give it a try. He wore them for about 4 hours and had two accidents, but at least we are making some progress! He sure looks cute in his "truck driver pants"!

Potty Training 101

WARNING: This post contains potty humor. If you find that offensive in anyway, please do not read ;0

Rhett is not yet 19 months old, and I know he is a LONG way from being potty trained. But, guess what? He went poo poo and pee pee in the potty today! YAY! He has been telling us for a couple of months now that he has poo poo or he will say "diaper". So, we have been following his lead and putting him on the potty after he tells us this to show him that is where you do your business. But, every time, he has already done his business. We have also started to put him on the potty when he passes gas, but most of the time it's just that... a little gas. Within the last few weeks, he has started hiding when he goes #2. So, today, he buried his face and hid behind a chair and began grunting really loudly. I knew it was time to go sit on the potty. He agreed, but only after he picked up several toy cars first. I thought that when I took his diaper off I was going to find that he had already gone, but he hadn't! So, he sat down and did his business and while I was praising and cheering him on, he went pee pee, too!

I am so proud of my little man! He got to eat M&M's as his reward! I hope he realized what all the fuss was about!
