Pretty in Pink and Tutu Cute!

We celebrated my kiddos' birthdays on Saturday, and what a party(s) it was!  My children were born 8 days shy of 3 years apart.  So, when it came time to plan their birthdays, I knew that we'd likely need to have a co-party.  But, Rhett had to have a Monster Truck birthday party this year, and that theme wasn't going to cut it for my little princess.  So, two parties it became to save myself time, money, energy, and to save all of our friends and family from driving to our home twice in a week's time.  We hosted both parties on the same day, at the same time, but with different themes, in different rooms.  I am pretty sure everyone I know thinks I am crazy for doing it this way.  But, I gotta say, I absolutely LOVE all that goes in to planning a party.  I love to coordinate every tiny detail to make it reflect the guest of honor's personality and interests, and to make them feel as special as possible on their big day.  So, without further adieu, I give you Gentry's party (Rhett's will be up later this week):

I drew out a giant number one onto MDF and my hubby cut it out.  I painted it pink and mounted it on an easel for all of the party guests to sign.

Served Strawberry Tea in my Trio Beverage Dispenser (LOVE!!!!)

I used the candelabra from our wedding to serve the cupcakes on.  I purchased plastic coasters from Wal Mart, spray painted them pink, and them hot glued them to the rim of the candle holders.  I cut cupcake wrappers and number 1's in different pink papers with my cricut, and then glued tulle to the edges of the wrappers to make tutus.

I knew I wanted cake pops, but absolutely cannot make mine look proper.  So, I called up Starbucks and ordered them in bulk.  They arrived all packaged safely, and they even gave me a $.25 per pop discount for ordering in bulk!  Yay!  I filled the tray with pink candy corn that I purchased at Target after Valentine's day.  It went on clearance for 90% off, and since I knew I wanted to do a pink theme, I bought all they had, for $.09 a bag.  I checked the expiration date on the bags, and they weren't set to expire for like another 6 months from when I used them.  I also used them to fill Gentry's pinata!  Score!

My sweet, and oh-so-talented bestie made these beautiful cookies for Gentry's party!  She seriously has some talent!

I ordered pink fountain chocolate from ebay (where I found the best deal), and served strawberries on skewers.

Got this idea from Pinterest!  Glued rhinestones to the pink plasticware.  I also tied pink satin bows around almost all of the serving pieces, and glued rhinestones to the center of each bow.  Gentry loves shiny, sparkly, bling, and has from a very early age.  Her future husband is in trouble!  But, it was a great little addition to the party, and really reflected her personality.

Pinata Time!

I purchased a generic pinata from Wal Mart, tore off the purple adornments, and added my own: a feather boa, a paper fan, glittery G and rosettes.

Hard to tell in this pic, but I got pink melting chocolate and drizzled it on the creme puffs that are in this photo.

Opening gifts.  She kept getting tangled in her dress, so it had to come off...and unfortunately, so did the bow!

I made a photo booth that didn't get used.  The sign says, "Grab a prop, choose a side, and strike a pose".  Props included fancy hats, tiaras, funny sunglasses, feather boas, a chalkboard word bubble, and other things for the boys side.

I hung this plastic table cloth for the background of the girl's side of the booth. 

I used a frame I already had and cut up her monthly photos to make a little monthly birthday timeline.

I made tutu pom balls and hung them from the light fixture.  I also took the pink shades from the chandelier in her room and added them here to match the party.

I added bows and bling to my very favorite sparkling pink lemonades (purchased at Tom Thumb).  Perfect for a pink party!

Food labels.  I found the frames at different times of the year in the $Spot at Target.  Some of them were white,  and I sprayed them pink to better match the party.

Smash cake time:

She didn't even get messy because the cake was so sweet and rich.  I don't think she liked it.  I still have a practically untouched smash cake in my fridge!

Can't believe my littlest love is ONE!  What a whirlwind of a year it's been!  Love you so much, Gentry Grace!  Happy Birthday baby girl!
