An Easter Surprise

I know that Easter is long gone now, but I wanted to share a little Easter surprise that Rhett gave to his grandpas and cousin.

I had seen these little carrot shaped, candy-filled bags at Wal-Mart. Most of them were filled with orange jelly beans- GROSS- unless they are Jelly Bellies. I decided that they would be much better filled with M & M's. And, since we keep a stock of them for Jeremy at our house most of the time, I knew that I would have plenty. So, I got a decorator's icing bag that I had on hand, sorted through our giant bag of M & M's and picked out all of the oranges, and went to filling. I had enough to fill 3 bags full, making my nephew's bag a little smaller. Then, I tied it together with some green curling ribbon and put a cute little tag on it that I made with my Cricut, and voila! The result: a cute little Easter surprise for all of the M & M loving men in our families. And, really, since I had all of the ingredients/supplies to make it, there was no cost involved :)

Rhett's First Easter

This post is a little late, but Rhett's first Easter was a lot of fun! We had plans to see both sets of grandparents, but my mom came down with bronchitis, a sinus infection and an upper respiratory infection, so needless to say, we didn't see my parents. We had a delicious meal Sunday evening with Jeremy's family, and Rhett looked OH SO CUTE in his Easter clothes.

The Easter bunny was very generous to Rhett this year, leaving a personalized beach towel, a huge sprinkler beach ball, some balls, some books, a sippy cup and a bunny. The Easter bunny also visited both grandparents' houses and left Rhett a little prize there as well. All in all, Rhett's first Easter was a success!
I made these Easter cookies for our celebration (very bad pic).

Easter Buckets?

This is Rhett's first Easter, and I wanted him to have a very special Easter basket for the occasion, but I couldn't find any that I just loved. So, I decided I would make him one instead. I decided that I would use a bucket instead of a basket, and after a couple of trial runs, here is the finished product! I like it so much that I decided to make one for my niece and one for my nephew, and to offer them for sale, just in time for Easter, over at my other blog, Pink Hearts and Polka Dots. If you are interested, head on over to see some of my other designs (I'm currently working on a third design, so check back often for more options). Or, shoot me an e-mail at pinkhearts.polkadots@yahoo.com . I can customize them in any color combination and even match them to a special Easter outfit. These would also be cute containers in a playroom, art and craft cubby, or make a cute container for a birthday gift.
