Feeling Crafty!

 After we got back from our trip, I had the itch for fall and crafting!  Pinterest didn't help that feeling either.  So, I took supplies that I had left over and got busy.  For the next week and a half or so, I was a sewing fool! 

 I made this little witch hat dress inspired by this centerpiece found here.

 Then, I made this spider shirt and coordinating pants.  I was inspired by this shirt.

 Then, I found some white tops and pants on clearance at Wal Mart, and decided a candy corn outfit was necessary.  So, I pulled out some yellow polka dotted fabric, bought some orange, and voila!Kind of inspired by this outfit.

 I used an old dress that previously had a Christmas tree on it to make this dress.  Not the cutest, but it'll do.  Inspired by something I saw on Facebook.

 Next, I made Gentry this Dallas Cowboy dress for football season.  Now she just needs a Dallas Cowboys bow and we'll be set!

 Rhett's turn, inspired by this.  She has other cute ones for Valentine's Day, St. Patty's Day, and Fourth of July.  Such a cute, boyish shirt without getting too girly!  I really liked her version better, but couldn't find the right kind of orange fabric, so we just went with this!

 Then, I decided G needed a cute Tech game day outfit.  So, I found this super cute fabric at Hobby Lobby, and got to work.  I just printed out the logo, traced it out, then sewed it together on the shirt.  Super easy if your school has a relatively simple logo! 

 Next, I was inspired by this pin.  I pulled out a pair of Rhett's old jeans from the attic and used the leftover fabric from the shirt to make ruffles around the pants.  If you can't already tell, I love ruffles! ha!  This was super easy (except for sewing around all the tiny letters!!!).  I just cut 3 ovals out of coordinating fabrics, followed Shannon's directions here, and sewed them on.  added a little stem and bow, and you have an easy pumpkin shirt!

I took this photo before the orange ruffles were added, but wanted to include it because it was much clearer than the other!

This last outfit was inspired by this website.  I love the whimsy-ness of these outfits.  If I could, I would dress Gentry in an outfit like this every single day!

I have a few more ideas in my head of some more Halloween outfits, so stay tuned!

San Antonio Trip

 A few weeks ago, Jeremy had to travel to San Antonio for work, so the kids and I packed up and headed along for the ride!  We stayed at a fabulous resort, The Westin La Cantera, and had a great time!

 This guy was so great with the little ones that were afraid.  He was the only one who got down on G's level and took his time to try to make her unafraid.

 ...and, he succeeded!  I really appreciated his efforts!

 When making the reservations they asked if we were celebrating anything, and since less than a month from their birthdays had passed, I said yes!  So, at the end of our meals, they brought out two cakes for my kiddos!

 Rhett had candle duty on both cakes!

 The hotel had a lot of super fun things for kids, and every night they had s'mores and a fun family movie.  Sadly, it rained almost every day of our trip, so we never got to experience making our own s'mores, but we did enjoy the staff-prepared ones just the same.  We never made it to the family movies because they all started so late.  But, what a fun concept!

 As a spur-of-the-moment decision, we decided to take the kiddos to Sea World before we left.  It was super steamy and HOT (as evidenced above and below), but we made the best of it!

 And, tried to cool off inside as much as possible!

 We got to feed dolphins! 

 We rode some rides,

 And, fed the duck-a-lings (as Rhett calls them).

 We also took in a Shamu show.  Can't go to Sea World without that!

After that, a storm blew in, so basically the entire park was shut down.  By this point we were all pretty red, hot, and tired, so we decided to call it a day.  But, what a fun time with my family!   

4th of July Part 2

I totally forgot to post pics of the yummy dishes I made for the 4th!  We went to two different celebrations, so I made three different desserts to take.

I used this recipe from pinterest, but changed the cherry pie filling to a fruit filling with cherries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries to give it a more patriotic look.  I totally forgot to take a pic of it though!

 I also made flag rice krispie treats using blueberry and strawberry jello.  Super easy, just add the jello powder to your melted marshmallow mixture, toss in your rice krispies, stir and voila!  Tinted rice krispies that also taste great!  For the stars, I added little white sprinkles left over from Christmas.  I think they're  technically supposed to be snow flakes, but they worked for what I needed!

Then, I made this patriotic chex mix.  It was super easy and could easily be adapted to other holidays as well!

Father's Day

My kiddos were blessed with an AMAZING father.  I was blessed with an AMAZING husband who became the most AMAZING father for our children!  This father's day we just relaxed, went swimming, got ice cream, and opened a few small gifts.  Nothing fancy!  But, it was just exactly what my hubby wanted to do that day.  Happy Father's Day, Jeremy!  You deserve recognition every day, not just on Father's Day.  Thank you for working so hard for our family, for all that you do, for all that you sacrifice.  WE LOVE YOU!

Four

 My baby boy turned FOUR on June 13th!  I cannot believe we are already here!  It really does feel like he was just born!  Four years has gone by in the BLINK of an eye!

To celebrate his big day, we made a few preparations the night before:

The morning after:

 He opened a present and had some donuts.

 Then had lunch at Chuck E. Cheese

Afterwards, he went to see Madagascar 3 with Dida, then came home  for his special dinner:

 Green is his favorite color, so we had an all green dinner.

 He loves my spaghetti and meatballs, so this was his choice for his birthday dinner.

 Then, he got to open some gifts with his cousins watching.

Rhett, you are growing up into such an amazing and incredible young man.  You constantly amaze me, humor me, and keep me on my toes!  You are my little buddy, and I have so enjoyed spending the last four years watching you learn and grow. I pray that you'll always remain as smart, sweet, funny, confident, friendly, outgoing, fun-loving and tenderhearted as you are today.  I love you to the moon and back, again and again and again and again!
