More Creations

I have been busy making things lately... lots of things! My computer is still on the blink, so my SIL so wonderfully downloaded some things for me and e-mailed them to me! With 400+ pics on my camera, I don't know how often she'll do that for me! ;) So, without further adieu: My Creations of late!
I made this sign for another SIL for Christmas.

This is my most very favorite thing that I've made this season! I was at the Chi Omega Christmas Market last weekend and stumbled upon a homemade sign at a booth that said, "Toymaker". It looked expensive (as did most things in the both), but I thought I'd ask anyway. Turns out, it wasn't for sale. The booth owner made it, and it was the name of their shop. I fell in love with it and thought it looked like a sign that would hang in the northpole outside of Santa's workshop! I told him I was going to make one of my own, and he told me how. Of course, I already was cooking up what mine would look like, and it looks nothing like his. But, it was very sweet of him to offer up some tips :).
I was contacted by an old High School classmate to paint a canvas to match this baby bedding for another H.S. classmate.
One of my nephews is very in to skulls and crossbones. Since the whole Ed Hardy thing is so popular right now, especially amongst middle school kids, I decided to make him a "more mature" lap desk for Christmas. You know, something he can do his "homework" on. ;0
And lastly, this little sign. I made it from an old sign that my inlaw's neighbors were throwing away. I think it turned out pretty cute!

No Pictures=No Posts

Our computer is on it's last leg. So much so that NOTHING else can be downloaded to it or we might just lose EVERYTHING on it! So, NOTHING else being downloaded means no pictures, which means no blogging for me until it is fixed. I have so many things that I would like to post about, but without photos, I fear it would just be a big snore. So, until we rectify this situation...

Rhett's First (Real) Haircut

Rhett's hair was beginning to look a little shaggy. So, my MIL wanted to take him to get his first real haircut, just as she did for her first grandson, Luke. (I had trimmed his hair once before, but not really well :)) So, yesterday we took him to the cutest hair salon just for kids, and he lost a little bit of baby :(. He got to sit in a fire truck and watch "choo choo" (Thomas). Enjoy our pics!

Christmas on the brain

I have Christmas on the brain! It's sad, I know... It's only the beginning of November! Poor Thanksgiving! But, my little boy is at such a fun age right now, and I know he is just going to LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVEEE Christmas as much as I do! He already knows how to say Santa. I started working that one well before Halloween, forgetting to teach him "Trick or Treat"!

Anyway, here are my latest craft projects. Some are knock offs of something I've seen elsewhere (etsy, internet, mail order catalogs, stores).

Halloween Fun

Here are some pics from our Halloween celebration!
Pebbles and Bam Bam

The whole gang minus Super C!
The only character Rhett wasn't afraid of

He will club anyone who comes near his candy!
Terrified of Barney!
Get me away from those monsters!
Looking for the perfect piece
Mmmm... found it!
Funniest part of the night!
Rhett getting seconds and Corbin helping!
Treats for the kids
Treats for me! ha! But, I probably had more of these than my fair share!

Our neighborhood hosts a "Monster Mile" for Halloween. We attended last year and had so much fun! This year was a little too crowded (I think because it was on Halloween-- usually the weekend before), and Rhett was terrified of all of the characters.

We had a group of family and friends over to our house for chili and caramel apples and had a nice time!

Hope you all had a nice Halloween! Now, onto more important matters...

CHRISTMAS!!! ;)

Swine '09

It's official, the swine flu has hit our household! We are resting and recuperating, and doing a bunch of this:

Thank goodness Rhett has been fever free now for over 24 hours (according to his doctor, at that point he will no longer be contagious). He still feels puny, but we are (hopefully) on the downhill slope of this!
