December 2011... In a nutshell

I haven't blogged about all of our Christmas celebrations, as well as all the Christmas festivities and events leading up to the big day.  Since it's now the middle of January, it will be all in one big post!  Warning, lots of pictures!!!!

At the beginning of December (the 1st), we went to a parade:

 We played Dress up:  (Gentry wasn't a fan)

 We made gifts for Rhett's teachers and classmates:

 Gentry played dress up again, and this time was happy about it!

7 Months

Miss Gentry turned 7 Months Old Today!

At 7 Months, Gentry is:

-getting really good at getting where she wants to go when she wants to go, all by herself!  I wouldn't call it crawling, but it is close, and it does the trick for her!

-practicing sitting on her own.  She hasn't mastered this yet, but is oh so close!

-eating solid foods and seems to be loving almost everything presented to her.  We had a slow start, but now she doesn't seem too picky!

-smiles at everyone she meets

-sleeps like a champ!

-loves her brother more than anything in this world!

-no teeth yet, but I have a feeling we'll see one very soon.

We love this baby girl so very much, and couldn't imagine our lives without her.  She is definitely  a blessing!

NYE 2011

 I realize that I haven't blogged about Christmas or, really, anything in December.  For those that care, I will get to that, but wanted to post about NYE first because, well, it's just easier!

So, this NYE, we did something a little different that I think just may become our new tradition.  We went to a nice restaurant in FW, and stayed until the ball dropped.  They had noisemakers, tophats, and a champagne toast at midnight.  We went with a group of friends, and had the best time!

 My hubby and me!  I met him 15 years ago this night.  We were just babies, and I love him SO much more with every passing day!  Everytime I look at him, I still feel like that 15 year old girl that thought he was the cutest thing she ever saw!

Proud Mommy Moment

On December 8th, Rhett's Preschool had their annual Christmas Program.  This is Rhett's first year attending the school, and I was really looking forward to getting the chance to see him perform on stage.  On the Tuesday prior to the program, as I was dropping him off, his teacher mentioned that he would be saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  I assumed it was in a group or something, and then she clarified by saying, "by himself".  I was a little taken aback, but oh so proud of him!  The big day came, and he was hesitant at first, but after a little coaxing by my mom, he worked the nerves out and did wonderfully!!

I may have cried a little :)
